About This Training Course

This training course covers all requirements of the Food Act. This Food Safety Level 1 certificate is necessary for anybody working with food and beverage - in a bar, restaurant, kitchen, fast food outlet - any food & beverage outlet.

This training course is also known as Basic Food Handling or Responsible Service of Food, RSF, or Food Safety Level 1. This training course will demonstrate how to follow workplace hygiene procedures and meets all council requirements. All hospitality workers should complete this course.

Training Course Outcomes

By the end of this food safety training course, you will have the skills and knowledge required to:
• Follow workplace hygiene procedures in accordance with enterprise standards and legal requirements.
• Handle and store all items according to enterprise requirements and legal obligations.
• Identify potential hygiene risks promptly.
• Take action to minimise or remove the risk within the scope of individual responsibility and in accordance with enterprise and legal requirements.
• Report hygiene risks beyond the control of individual staff to the appropriate person for follow up.

Students will be able to use these skills in a range of hospitality environments from bars and restaurants to fast food outlets and milk bars.

After successful completion of this training course, students will receive National Unit of Competency THHGHS01B Follow Workplace Hygiene Procedures Statement of Attainment.
