About This Training Course

The new TAA40104 Certificate IV Training and Assessment course replaced the former BSZ40198 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training course in November 2005. It is the qualification for anyone wishing to commence or progress a career in Training and Assessment at work, in a College, Training Company, Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or as a Training & Assessment contractor.

This training course takes you through a clear process of steps and practical exercises to understand and implement competency based training and assessment - the benchmark system today.

The TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment course is a significant qualification. It involves dedication, time and guidance. In the Southern Cross Training program students will feel secure, confident and supported throughout their learning experience.

This nationally recognised TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment course is delivered via blended learning, which is a combination of in-class and self paced study. There are two blocks of five days with a 4 to 6 week period between the two blocks. Outside of the 10 days, students are required to complete projects and assessment tasks towards the TAA qualification. The blended learning course involves approximately 275 hours of a combination of in-class and self paced learning.

The student fee includes all training manuals, CD-rom, templates, e -mail mentoring and support from your certified trainer while you undertake the self -paced component & assessment tasks. There are no hidden costs.

The TAA40104 Certificate IV Training and Assessment program runs for a maximum 3 month period including two five day blocks in class.

Training Course Outcomes

On successful completion of the TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment course, students will be qualified to gain employment as a trainer and assessor in their chosen industry. Prerequisites

The TAA40104 Certificate IV Training and Assessment is suitable for people who are new to training as well as those with extensive experience. This qualification requires good language, literacy and computing skills and access to a computer. Projects are undertaken as part of completing the qualification, and a workplace or practice environment is needed. Students must be over 18 years of age.

RPL options are available for people who have extensive training experience who can provide quality evidence.
